Most Pharmacy Schools will require a Pharmacy School Supplemental Application in addition to a PharmCAS Application. Each School will have their own supplemental application to complete. This can be a tedious task when you apply to many schools. Often the pharmacy school supplemental application is overlooked as a component to the overall process.

Pharmacy School Supplemental Application

First, start by visiting each school’s website and download the supplemental application. I would recommend creating an organized folder on your computer or cloud storage system for “pharmacy applications”. Organize each folder with the prospective schools of interest. Staying organized is key for success. It is important to fill everything out completely and to send the correct application to the correct school. This may seem logical and simple but their are people who do this!

Tips:

  • Read everything on the pharmacy school supplemental application. In fact, read it several times. Fill the application out completely.
  • Review your supplemental application for misspellings or missing information. (How can a school accept you as a student if you cannot fill out an application completely or it has missing information?)
  • Do not submit your application on the deadline date. (This will not exclude you from being considered for their program. It can potentially hurt you only if you are a borderline candidate.)
  • Try to have a goal to complete your application at least one month in advance.
  • Print the Pharmacy School Supplemental Application on resume paper. If you plan to submit a printed application, it is more professional to use higher quality paper. This will provide help you with the first impression before the interview.

I hope the recommendations above will help guide, motivate, and inspire you to achieve your goals. Follow my blog for more tips and advice on how to become a pharmacist. What are your experiences? Please comment below and share your thoughts.
